The Alliance Française de Chandigarh, in partnership with the Embassy of France in India, is presenting a digital spectacle embracing modern art and technology.

‘Escape: A Journey to the Heart of Digital Cultures’, strives to make you dive deep into the evolution of the internet, big data, cyber-surveillance, and the pervasive digital environment. The exhibition is an ode to pioneers, artists, cyberactivists, and all visionaries who foresaw digital disruptions.

‘Escape’ urges the audience to momentarily step back, critically examine the digital realm, and re-establish the connection with our tangible, organic surroundings.

Aurélien Jeanney, the curator of the exhibition, said, “Witness an endless cycle between day and night through the lens of eleven globally acclaimed artists. Via the Midi Minuit, an augmented reality exhibition, people will witness 11 posters showcasing an endless cycle between day and night through the lens of eleven artists. Every poster is a bilingual delight (French/English), available on both iOS and Android platforms. Just hover over the posters with your device, and each image springs to life, narrating tales of timeless moments.”

Jeanney is the founder and artistic director of Maison Tangible, a Paris-based manufacturer of images and graphic objects founded in 2015. At once a design studio, publishing house and creator of augmented reality experiences, Maison Tangible navigates between illustration, art direction and motion design, across multiple mediums to create a colourful, joyful and geometric universe.

The exhibition also offers audiences an exclusive opportunity to explore the magic of Paris in virtual reality. It is on from November 15 to 21 at Alliance Française, Sector 36, Chandigarh.
