AM AADMI Party (AAP) Friday expelled Jassi Jasraj from party for “indiscipline” and “anti-party” activities. A singer-turned-politician, Jassi was AAP’s pick for Bathinda parliamentary constituency in 2014 polls. He had, however, lost.

“For long, he was indulging in indiscipline and anti-party activities. He was posting videos every other day, which went against the party and gave opponents a handle to target the party. He was told several times that he should not go public with such activities and if he had any grievances, he should raise those on party platform. He also announced a few sector level leaders without consulting leaders who were entrusted with the task to make such appointments,” said AAP Punjab convenor Sucha Singh Chhotepur.
“He (Jassi Jasraj) was continuously speaking against the party. He did not spare anyone. From Arvind (Kejriwal) to (Sucha Singh) Chhotepur to Bhagwant Mann, he spoke against all party leaders. He was also organising party programmes without taking party into confidence,” said AAP Punjab affairs incharge Sanjay Singh.
Jassi was not available for comment. On his Facebook page, he had posted a picture that read: “Jis ke sir upar tu swami so dukh kaisa pawe (One who has Your (Lord’s) patronage, how can he suffer any pain”. The post also had a verse: “Hukume Andar Sab ko Bahar hukum na koi!” (Everyone works under Lord’s command and no one works beyond His command).
Support poured in for Jassi with users posting comments over his expulsion.
