Labourer,son electrocuted to death
Bhatinda: A man and his son were electrocuted to death after coming in contact with high voltage electric wire while working in fields in Gumti Kalan village on Monday morning. The deceased Bachittar Singh (62) and his son Sukha Singh (35) worked as farm labourers. Police said Sukha Singh got electrocuted first while his father died in the process of saving him.
Minister warns against ragging
Chandigarh: Chandigarh: The Medical Education and Research Minister Arunesh Shakir on Monday issued directions to the principals and staff of all the government and private medical,dental,ayurvedic,homeopathy,para-medical and nursing colleges to immediately suspend the students found indulging in ragging. Shakir,in a communiqué,said that it was imperative for all educational institutions to implement the latest guidelines issued by the Supreme Court to check the menace of ragging. He said that since the new session in all the medical institutions is about to commence,there is greater need for the authorities to keep a strict vigil on the activities of students.
