Briefly Region; 3 more officers transferred

In a second reshuffle of bureaucrats,the SAD-BJP government on Sunday transferred three more senior IAS officers — B K Srivastva,G Vajralingam and Anurag Aggarwal.

Chandigarh: In a second reshuffle of bureaucrats,the SAD-BJP government on Sunday transferred three more senior IAS officers — B K Srivastva,G Vajralingam and Anurag Aggarwal. As per the orders issued by the personnel department,while Mahatama Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA) Director General B K Srivastva has been made the chairman of the Punjab Board of Technical Education,Vajralingam has been appointed the MGSIPA director general as well as the principal secretary (Higher Education and Languages). Anurag Aggarwal,on the other hand,has been posted as the managing director of Punjab Infrastructure Development Board.

’Body will analyse poll performance’

Chandigarh: The BJP Core Committee has decided that a committee will be formed to ascertain the reasons as to why the party lost 11 seats out of the 23 it had contested. Sources said that in the core committee meeting here on Sunday it was decided that the party will announce the committee on Monday. The committee is expected to visit assembly segments from where the party lost,meet workers and others and analyse the reasons for the defeat.

Nadda to file nomination today

Shimla: BJP general secretary and national spokesman J P Nadda will file his nomination papers for state’s lone Rajya Sabha seat on Monday at 11 am. With BJP having an overwhelming majority in the Assembly,Nadda is set to enter the Parliament. The Congress,meanwhile,is yet to announced its decision to contest the seat. If it decides not to contest,Nadda may be declared unopposed. However,CLP Vidya Stokes has hinted that the Congress will contest the seat.

NREGS job for snow clearance

Shimla: Heavy snowfall,which created havoc for the residents of Lahual-Spiti,has now become a boon for job-seekers during the idle-winter months. Himachal Pradesh’s minister for Rural Development and Panchayati,Raj Jairam Thakur informed the State Assembly that snow clearance from roads in Lahaul Spiti was being done under MNREGA.

Priyanka holidaying in Shimla

Shimla: With elections and gruelling campaign days over in Uttar Pradesh,Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and her two children are in Shimla for a break. Sources said Priyanka reached Chharabra on Saturday by a private helicopter and landed at Kalyani helipad,just next to the site where she is building her dream home.
