Two cops suspended for accepting bribe
Jalandhar:An ASI and a Head Constable of Mithra police post have been placed under suspension. ASI Jasbir Singh and HC Subeg Singh allegedly accepted a Rs 10,000 bribe to release one Inder Singh Tinku,who was caught with more than a kg of poppy husk on August 3.
Drinking water project in Badwa
Chandigarh:Ensuring adequate supply of drinking water in Badwa village in Bhiwani,the Haryana Public Health Engineering Minister,Kiran Choudhry on Sunday announced that the government has approved a project of laying down drinking water pipelines costing Rs 3.22 crore,in the village. The minister also laid down the foundation stone for the drinking water scheme.
All set for 17th Hind-Pak mela
Amritsar:Hind Pak Dosti Manch general secretary Satnam Singh Manak,on Sunday,said everything was in place for the 17th Hind Pak Mela organised every year to mark the Independence Days of India and Pakistan. The mela will begin with a seminar on the contributions of Sufism.
