The one non-film event that can make the country’s top film award functions look dull in comparison is Umang, which pays tribute to the Mumbai Police. The event manages to bring together the biggest of names and the fiercest of foes on to a common platform. True to its reputation,Umang 2010 had in attendance, apart from the top police officials and Home Minister RR Patil, the crème de la crème of Bollywood. Guests included veterans like Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan,Dharmendra — who also did a jig on stage — and Rishi Kapoor. It was endearing to watch Aamir Khan croon along with a lady police constable. Salman Khan teamed up with old pal Govinda for a dance number while Vivek Oberoi went solo. Bollywood’s latest ‘It Girl’,Sonakshi Sinha, looking lovely in a sari, attended the event with mom Poonam Sinha.

While Kareena Kapoor,Saif Ali Khan,Priyanka Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan seemed to enjoy performing together on stage,we would pay a million bucks to find out what brewed backstage when Piggy Chops and Bebo, who recently made their rivalry public on Koffee with Karan, bumped into each other.
