Harbhajan Mann,Debbie Makhsoospuri,Jazzy B and Gurshewak Mann Canada has given the Indian music industry several acclaimed Punjabi singers. Now another name,Gurjit Rahal,has been added to the list. Born in India,Rahal moved to Canada 15 years back. A lead singer in various community shows and events in Canada,he released his second album Takeova,in Chandigarh,last week. Its special to me,as I have collaborated with famous Bollywood music producers RDB, says Rahal. Featuring 12 power-packed tracks,Takeova infuses hip hop,RnB,bhangra and club music,and one of the songs of the album Aish Karogi was reportedly appreciated by Akshay Kumar.
This is Rahals second album. Last year he had released Peenghan Pyaar Diyan. I roped in Manpreet Tiwana,a well-known Punjabi lyricist and music director Sukhpal for it, says Rahal.
Want more of Punjabi music? Catrack music company has launched singer Babu Chandigarhias album titled World Cup Cricket. Also featuring tracks by Miss Pooja,Gurlez Akhtar and Bhinder Preet,the album consists of eight songs,including Kachh Da Glass,which discusses the relationship between the body and soul. I have also sung about inflation and culture, says Chandigarhia.
