CHANDIGARH: An annual general body meeting of Haryana Govt Pensioners’ Association was held on Monday at Shishu Niketan. An official said,“The centre has sanctioned enhanced pension to its pre-2006 retirees and as the Haryana government is following the central government pattern,the benefits may be valid for Haryana pensioners as well.”

Uttarakhand flood victim discharged from PGIMER

CHANDIGARH: Avtar Singh,a victim of Uttrakhand flood calamity,was discharged from PGI on Monday. He was badly wounded and his arms and legs got fractured.

Conference held on hearing impairment

CHANDIGARH: National Rehabilitation Institute organised a two days “Regional Conference on Hearing Impairment at Pt JR Government Polytechnic College Hoshiarpur. A free medical camp was also organized for people suffering from variety of ENT and allied ailmentsin which 68 patients suffering from different types of ENT and allied diseases were examined.

Ram Darbar resident arrested over murder

CHANDIGARH: Police arrested Shahid Khan,a resident of Ram Darbar,for the alleged murder of Pardeep Kumar alias Master,whose body was found in the area on Sunday morning.

According to the police,the accused Khan confessed that on Saturday night,both Kumar and Khan were drunk and were consuming drugs. In the state of intoxication,Kumar suddenly started asking Khan for sexual favours.

ISB students meet host families
