Around town : More join NSUI at function in Sec 35

Chandigarh:The National Students Union of India organised a programme at Congress Bhawan,Sector 35,on Monday. Outgoing president of Chandigarh Territorial Youth Congress Gurpreet Gabi said the student organisations were busy settling their own scores instead of working for the welfare of students. While the NSUI announced the names of presidents and chairmen appointed in different colleges,some students from different organisations joined the party. With the elections of the Panjab University Campus Students Council and colleges likely next month,the student organisations are strengthening their base.

Registration open for CII cricket club

Chandigarh:Registration has begun for the Corporate Cricket Cup held by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII),Northern Region,starting on September 8. Matches will be played at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula and the Chandigarh Cricket Academy and Chandigarh Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh.

Lecture on cancer held at DAV 8

Panchkula:A lecture on plausible causes and symptoms of cancer was organised at DAV Senior Secondary Public School by Global Cancer Concern India,a charitable trust from Gurgaon.
