In view of the rising thefts in the city the police have increased the existing strength of six ‘Cheetah Squad’ motorcycles to 11.

More ‘cheetah squads’ to be seen on city roads

CHANDIGARH: In view of the rising thefts in the city the police have increased the existing strength of six ‘Cheetah Squad’ motorcycles to 11. These motorcycles will be available in their beat during the night hours specially to curb theft,snatching and check doubtful movements. To further ensure the availability of PCR mobiles in city area as well as to make effective supervision of PCR mobiles,all PCR Inspectors have been directed to remain present during the three shifts (two inspectors each). These PCR Inspectors will specially ensure that the discotheques are closed in time while the cheetah squad will check noise pollution violations after 10 pm to 6 am.

Grievance forum set up for electricity complaints

Chandigarh: Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum (CGRF) has been set up by Chandigarh Administration for redressal of complaints pertaining to electricity. In case the complaint is not addressed at the SDO level offices of the Electricity Department within a stipulated period,this forum may be approached at the fifth floor,UT Secretariat,Sector 9. The complaint may be lodged on a plain paper in writing or can be e-mailed at chairmancgrf@gmail.com. It can also be faxed on number 0172-2740505.
