The city loves this man and he loves it too. For Raghu Ram,the co-creative head at MTV and the daddy of the uber popular show Roadies,Chandigarh has always given him the right kind of contestants for all of his shows and for youngsters in the city, there’s never been a better way to have fun and get noticed too! But this time Raghu Ram,the bald man people hate as much as they love, arrives mellow and in a new role. He’s head of faculty on Real TV’s show ‘Sitaron Ko Choona Hai’. “This isn’t just a talent hunt show. It’s a real academy where we hone singing skills of the participants,” Raghu explains admitting he’s always been musically inclined. As for his own show, for the first time Roadies went on their journey without him. “It was difficult to let go but I had to. That’s how my team can grow,” says Raghu who has never shied away from speaking his mind and off late that’s got him the title of youth icon. “Am I one?” he questions. “I am very vocal about right and wrong. Recently,I spoke vehemently on attack on women, the deteriorating condition of Indian politics and how adults need to grow up too.” It’s this speak your mind attitude that’s now won him a Bollywood film, well almost. “I always wanted my name in TV credits,a radio show,a music album,a film and a book,” lists out Raghu. While TV,radio and music are done with,a film and book should happen this year sometime. “After working hard for 15 years,I am hoping to head to the mountains for some time off,” he sighs. We think the book will happen there!.
