This ones for all those who miss sipping on beer in the peakest of winter. Until now seen as a summer staple, beer is set to make its presence felt all through the year. Kingfisher Red,an all-season beer was formally launched this Wednesday. A premium gravity beer that has been specially brewed to give a distinctive taste with an oaky, woody flavour,Kingfisher Red comes from the United Breweries stable. It tastes great when chilled and even better when not chilled, remarked Samar S Sheikhawat, senior vice-president (marketing),United Breweries Limited as he uncorked the new variant in the city. Interestingly,Kingfisher Red is an artistically crafted beer inspired by the traditional brewing practices of medieval European monks. The monks followed a typical process for making their beer and then matured it in oak barrels. Kingfisher Red is warm and perfect when the mercury takes a dip, explained Sheikhawat. This first of its kind all-season beer comes after much R&D,shares the UB team. A lot many times consumer needs dont get articulated. We realised that consumers were all game for a beer that would pair up well when its winter, monsoon.seen as otherwise dreary months for beer, points out Sheikhawat. The beer,we are told, has been developed following a unique process whereby the end result is golden light, oaky brown beer that can be consumed even at 14 to 17 degrees Celsuis without any change in the taste. Kingfisher Red will be available in 650 ml bottles, priced at Rs 60.
