Ahead of the Panjab University Campus Students’ Council (PUCSC) elections, three student organisations — Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Indian National Students’ Organisation (INSO), and the newly formed Hindustan Socialist Republic Party (HSRA) — have announced a united front, signalling a new power bloc in campus politics.
The alliance introduced its leadership team with Gauravveer Sohal as president, Navdeep Singh (Meel) as vice-president, Vishesh Dhaka as secretary, and Sagar Khatri as joint secretary.
HSRA, floated by former NSUI leaders Sagar Khatri and Navi Meel after being denied tickets, has now merged its efforts with ABVP and INSO. The coalition is being viewed as a strategic move that can reshape the electoral landscape, posing a challenge to NSUI and other established groups on campus.
Party leaders emphasised that this alliance is rooted in a shared vision of student welfare, accountability, and strong representation, aiming to prioritise student issues and bring a fresh wave of change to PU politics.
As the campus gears up for elections, all eyes are now on this newly formed bloc, which has already started creating ripples in the student political scene.
