Adampur to Mumbai flight gets nod, service to begin from July 2

Jalandhar MP and former Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi, who has been actively pushing for increased flight operations from Adampur Airport in Jalandhar confirmed that domestic flights to Mumbai have now been approved. “I have continuously raised this issue in the Lok Sabha and personally met Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu to request enhanced connectivity from Adampur. I’m happy to share that our efforts have borne fruit,” Channi said.
The new service will be operated by IndiGo Airlines, with flight 6E 5931 departing Mumbai at 12:55 pm and arriving in Adampur at 3:55 pm. The return flight 6E 5932 will take off from Adampur at 3:50 pm and land in Mumbai at 6:30 pm. Daily operations will be managed from counters 3, 4, and 5 at the Adampur Airport.
Channi added that the Adampur Airport officials have provided necessary office space and facilities to IndiGo to ensure smooth functioning of the service.
He further revealed that a request has been made to the Civil Aviation Ministry to start Star Airlines flights to Jaipur and Delhi in the near future.
Expressing gratitude to the Union Minister, the former CM said, “these flights will not only offer ease of travel to people in this region but will also help boost trade, tourism, and the overall economic development of the Doaba area”.
The launch marks a major milestone in strengthening air connectivity in Punjab’s hinterland, Channi added.
