ABVP announces panel for students’ polls,holds rally

ABVP announced their panel for this year's students' elections,following a party meeting held on Sunday.

ABVP announced their panel for this year’s students’ elections,following a party meeting held on Sunday. Parvesh Chandel,a second-year student at the Department of Mass Communication,has been selected to contest for the post of president in the forthcoming elections of Panjab University Campus Students’ Council.

The party held a rally on campus on Sunday,and the nominated members visited the hostels to introduce themselves to the students. Gitika,a first-year student of MA English,will contest for the post of vice-president. For the post of general secretary,the party will be nominating Priyaranjan,a fourth-year student from the University Institute of Engineering Technology (UIET). While Ankush,a first-year student of Masters of Social Work will contest for the post of joint secretary.

Chandel said the motto of the party was ‘student’s power,nation’s power’ and that they would work towards making the campus free of violence. “Our manifesto includes demanding an increase in the number of faculty members and to seek the status of a central university for PU. We will develop more infrastructure on campus,” he said. The nominations will be filed on Monday.
