Abohar murder case: CM Badal denies any link with Doda

Contrary to CM’s claims Doda, who had unsuccessfully contested the Vidhan Sabha polls in 2012 from Abohar, was made SAD in-charge of the constituency after the polls.

He had contested against BJP candidate Vijay Lakshmi Badho and Congress candidate Sunil Jakhar. Though Jakhar had won the election, his victory margin was reduced to a mere 5,000 votes while Badho’s security deposit was forfeited. Doda, it is said, would write constituency incharge, SAD, after his name after the 2012 polls.

Meanwhile, Congress MLA from Abohar Sunil Jakhar said the entire town knows the truth about the link between the Dodas and the ruling party, “Let the CM deny but action speaks louder than words. Everyone in the town knows the truth. SAD had earlier disowned its office-bearers once they were caught in a controversy.”

While CM has denied any connection with Doda, SAD’s circle incharge from Abohar, Ashok Ahuja, has come out in support of the liquor baron.

Ahuja accused the Congress of playing politics in the matter while giving a clean chit to Doda, “Jakhar had sought political support from the Doda family in 2002 and 2007 elections; now they are playing politics against this family.”

Hearing of Doda’s anticipatory bail plea

Ludhiana: A Fazlika court Thursday deferred the hearing on the anticipatory bail case of Shiv Lal Doda to December 26. Police could not produce the necessary record in the case following which a fresh date of hearing was given. Besides this, another accused, identified as Rajwinder Singh alias Raju, surrendered before the police in the case.
