A Promise of excellence < br>Children are our future, but when will they have time to just be kids? It is more common to see over-burdened children off to tuition classes after a long day at school, than to see them playing in the park. Clearly, something in the education system is not working. Now,there is a solution that promises individualized attention to each and every child. Its called your neighbourhood Promise Centre. The goal is to improve the childs personality and marks! Children enrolled here study less, are less burdened, get better marks and have fantastic personalities. Whats more, they are all-rounders,well-organized and equipped to handle tests and examinations better. So,the promise is not limited to better marks, but imparting critical study skills early in life. Promise focuses on Classes 3 to 10 and is a highly systematic approach in quality education and has now opened a centre in Chandigarh at SCO 311,Sector 40. With centres all over India, its the brainchild of Amri Shahpuri,an educationist and mother of two,who believes in realistic solutions to problems for both children and their parents.
First among equals < br>MY idea of society is that while we are born equal, meaning we have a right to equal opportunities, all have not the same capacity, said Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and this was what proved to be correct in the recently held US elections where Barack Hussein Obama was eelcted President of the Ubnited States of America.
I do not know whether I should comment on the election of Obama but I am sure that the same sets an example for our countrys politics as well, where most political battles are fought over communal and casteist issues. Mahatma Gandhi and many thinkers have pleaded for the cause of equality but never achieved complete success. Now,when the whole world is looking and though a little bias is still apparent in the reaction to Obamas election. Obama is at the top and no wonder that our great leaders have tried to establish equality and create room for the downtrodden and suppressed. Obama made history and we now need to readhere to what we have been preaching to the world that all are equal and thus deserve equal treatment.
