5 held for illegal sale of synthetic drug

The police have arrested five more of a gang involved in illegally selling synthetic drug Methamphetamine,including the wife and son of the kingpin.

The police have arrested five more of a gang involved in illegally selling synthetic drug Methamphetamine,including the wife and son of the kingpin. As many as Rs 200 crore worth of the drug had been recovered.

While 10 others had earlier been arrested in the case,kingpin Ranjit Singh aka Raja Kandhola — a US based NRI — is still at large. The police said that during investigations they found that his wife Rajwant Kaur and their son Belly Singh were both involved in the illegal business.

A pub owner from Delhi,Harmeet Singh,who was allegedly involved in supplying the drug,has been arrested,along with two more associates of Kandhola,including a a Gunachaur resident Sukhwinder Singh and his accomplice Gurinder Singh. The two were found with heroin worth Rs 2.65 crores.
