5 dead, 1 missing in Haryana; over 16857 hectares of crop area affected due to rains in last 24 hours

At least 21 houses have been fully damaged while 22 houses have sustained partial damage in the last 24 hours due to the rains across Haryana.

At least five persons died and one remained missing in Haryana due to flooding caused by rains in the last 24 hours.

Over 16,857 hectares of total crop area is affected by the rains in the last 24 hours, while the overall area affected due to rains in the State since June 1 to date was estimated at 1,24,172 hectares. And at least 16 persons have lost their lives during this period.

At least 11 districts are currently affected including Ambala, Fatehabad, Faridabad, Panchkula, Jhajjar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, Sonipat, and Yamunanagar and 105 villages continue to remain affected due to flooding caused by the rains.

At least 21 houses have been fully damaged while 22 houses have sustained partial damage in the last 24 hours due to the rains across Haryana. At least 20 livestock including cattle have suffered loss of life over the last 24 hours in the State.

According to the data released by the state government, 441 persons were evacuated to safe areas this evening, while one relief camp was opened. There are 819 persons living in the relief camp and 8,587 packets of ration have been distributed in the flood-affected areas.

Several roads, bridges, culverts, and retaining walls have sustained damage across various parts of the State.

While the Army has been deployed at Ambala, Yamunanagar, Karnal, and Panipat, NDRF remains deployed at Panipat, Ambala, Fatehabad, Kurukshetra, and Kaithal. State police force and the SDRF personnel are carrying out the rescue and relief measures across the State’s affected areas.
