Raju Khan stands convicted in four cases and is a proclaimed offender in three others; his accomplice Jatinder Patel too was arrested after naka was set up
Convicted in four cases and declared a proclaimed offender in three cases,Raju Khan,a hardened criminal was arrested by Chandigarh Police today. He stand convicted in cases of attempt to murder,criminal intimidation,rape and other crimes. A history sheeter,Raju Khan is also wanted by the Ludhiana Police in a case registered against him at Focal Point police station,Ludhiana.
His accomplice Jatinder Patel too has been arrested by the Chandigarh Police today after a naka was set up. The naka was set up by Special Technical Operation Cell of PCR headed by Inspector Ranjit Singh Dhillon and Inspector Malkiat Singh,SHO-IA under the supervision of Roshan Lal,DSP/PCR near Pepsi Turn Village Darwa.
During the checking,a Splender Motorcycle (HR03H-8630),driven by Raju Khan and Jatinder Pal was stopped and on verification was found to be a stolen vehicle. for which a case FIR No.181/12 dt 20/07/2012 u/s 379 IPC had already been registered in police station,Industrial Area.
During the initial investigation,another stolen Discover Motorcycle (CH04-C-2292) has been recovered from them. With the duos arrest,ten cases of snatching which took place in the past six to seven months have also been solved by the Chandigarh Police. Laptops,jewellery,ear rings have been recovered from their possession.
In another arrest made by the Chandigarh Police,around 30 cases of snatching and theft have been solved by the Chandigarh Police. Addressing media persons,Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Naunihal Singh said that the two accused,Vicky and Sanjay have confessed their involvement in the said cases. Of the 30 cases,properties in 16 cases have been recovered from their possession.
Vicky and Sanjay were arrested from sector 24-25-37-38 roundabout. Both of them were heading to their residence on a stolen Pulsar motorcycle.
The two were remanded to four days police custody by a local Court today.
Jewellery including ear rings,gold chains worth 7.5 lakh rupees has been recovered from their possession. It is worth mentioning that accused Vicky has been found involved in 30 cases registered with different police stations of the city,of which in 9 cases he stands convicted,in 2 cases he has been declared a proclaimed offender. Further,16 are still under trial in various courts. Likewise,accused Sanjay Suraj has been convicted in three cases and is facing trial in eight cases.
