A local court on Monday acquitted four accused in a double murder case.
Three residents of Mauli Jagran village Rinku Verma alias Raju,Ricky Sharma and Devi Shankar Verma and Hallomajra resident Shamshad alias Lambu were arrested for the murder of two private security guards Gurdial Singh,65,and Sucha Singh,45 in May 2010.
While Gurdial Singh was posted in a Pepsi godown,Sucha Singh was working in a groundnut factory. Both were said to be good friends. While Sucha Singh lived at Mauli village,Gurdial was a resident of Vikas Nagar,Mauli Jagran.
Defence counsel Inderjeet Bassi said police were not able to establish the possible motive behind the murders. Apart from not being able to collect evidence and make any recovery from the accused,the cops failed to produce any eyewitness.
