3-yr-old run over by own school bus

Manpreet Kaur,the three-year-old daughter of Maam Singh,a resident of Haibatpur village,Dera Bassi lost her life after she was run over by her own school bus at Haibatpur village near Dera Bassi on Monday noon.

According to the police,Manpreet (3),a kindergarten student at R K Public School,Dera Bassi,was on her way home in her school bus. When the bus reached Manpreet’s stop,she deboarded the bus herself due to unavailability of a conductor in the bus and as she tried to cross the road to reach her home,the driver did not see her ahead and ran the bus over her,leaving her seriously injured. She was rushed to a nearby private hospital in Dera Bassi where the doctors declared her brought dead.

The driver of the bus who managed to flee from the spot has been booked on charges of causing death and the hunt for him is on,the police said.
