Three students of DAV Senior Secondary School,Sector 15,were assaulted with sharp-edged weapons and bottles by a group of youths at Leisure Valley on Friday night. One of them,Balwant Singh,sustained serious injuries on his head and was rushed to the PGI for treatment,while the other two sustained minor injuries.
The police is clueless of the identity of the accused even as kin of the injured hinted that the accused are student group leaders who assaulted the three owing to mistaken identity. The incident occurred in the parking area adjoining the Leisure Valley yesterday evening. Class-XII student Balwant Singh,18,along with his friend Gaurav Saini and Rajan,were standing in the parking lot with a Skoda car when suddenly a group of youths came in a Swift car and attacked them. The Skoda car was also damaged in the attack.
SHO,Sector 3 police station,Mahavir Singh,when contacted was clueless of the accused even 24 hours after the incident. We have registered a case of attempt to murder and rioting under Section 147,148,149,341,307 IPC on the complaint of Gaurav Saini against seven to eight unknown accused. At present,we do not know the reason for assault and who attacked them, he said.
