Alleging fraud and corruption in the Haryana Civil Services (HCS) examination, hundreds of supporters of the Indian National Students Organisation (INSO) staged a protest outside the Sector-4 office of the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) on Saturday. The main exams for HCS began today.
The matter was stoked by a list recently circulated by Indian National Lok Dal general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Ajay Chautala. The list contained the names of 21 candidates who despite failing in the preliminary exams, were allegedly allowed to take the main exam.
Haryana INSO state president Vikas Rathee said,All limits of corruption have been crossed. We have gathered at the HPSC office to express our anger and hopelessness.
Demanding that the commission be suspended,Rathee said,The present government has failed to conduct the HCS exam with the required transparency and they are playing with the careers of thousands of candidates. The act (of issuing roll numbers to the 21 students) is shameful and the commission should be relieved of its duties. Let the Union Public Service Commission conduct the examination all over again.
Another INSO activist,Rajat Panjeta, said the fees should be returned to all students as the government is conducting these exams for their own children.
