The Phase-8 police has arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 47 grams of heroin from their possession. The accused have been identified as Navjot Singh, a resident of Nilokheri, Karnal district (Haryana), and Pradeep Singh, a resident of Nanu Majra village, under Sohana police station, Mohali. Acting on a secret tip-off, the police team apprehended both accused near Fortis Hospital, Phase-8, Mohali. A case has been registered against them under the NDPS Act at Phase-8 Police Station. Assistant Sub-Inspector Bhupinder Singh said, “I was present with my police team near Fortis Hospital when we received confidential information that two habitual drug users and suppliers were on their way to deliver heroin to a customer at the old bus stand, Phase 8, Mohali.” He added, “Following the information, we set up a checkpoint and managed to intercept both suspects. During their search, 47 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession.” Police have launched further investigation to trace the source of the heroin and the network of buyers and suppliers connected to the two accused.
