2 die,2 hurt in separate mishaps

Two persons were killed and two women were hurt in separate mishaps in different parts of Mohali district during the past 24 hours,the police said on Saturday.

A resident of Jhajeri village,Pala Khan alias Roshan,in his late 20s,was found dead in his bed on Saturday morning. His wife Beena said Khan had fallen of the roof after he consumed too much alcohol. He had sustained head injuries,she said but did not get himself treated. However,Khan’s elder brother Bawa Khan accused his younger brother of beating Khan to death.

In another incident,a migrant labourer Bhola Yadav was electrocuted while working at a real estate company’s project site at Chapparchiri village on Saturday evening. He was taken to a private hospital,where he died.

Rajwinder Kaur of Hallomajra village,Chandigarh,sustained injuries after she was allegedly beaten up and deserted by her in-laws at Rasanheri village. The police have booked her husband,father-in-law,mother-in-law,sister-in-law and two others named by the victim under Sections 406,498-A and 323 of the IPC. Another woman Karamjeet Kaur of Jhungian village,Mohali,was injured when her neighbours assaulted her following a verbal dual over a drain. She was admitted at Civil Hospital for treatment while Gian Singh,his wife Nachhattar Kaur and daughter Amandeep Kaur were booked under Sections 324,323 and 34 of the IPC,the police said.
