2 constables hurt at separate nakas

In its bid to avoid a traffic naka,a car being driven rashly left a UT Police constable injured. The constable sustained minor injuries and was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for first aid.

A police officer said,“The car was signalled to stop by constable Sandeep at the naka for over-speeding near Sector 56. Instead of stopping,the driver of the car injured the constable who landed on the bonnet of the car. Constable Sandeep was taken for about a kilometer”.

The official also added,“The constable finally fell on the ground and the accused managed to flee. We have the registration number of the car and the accused will soon be arrested.”

Another incident had taken place in Sector 11 on Thursday when an ex-serviceman Bhupinder Rawat,allegedly slapped a UT Police Traffic constable at a naka. Bhupinder’s son Kamal was riding a motorcycle without a helmet. Constable Yashpal signaled Kamal to stop but he thought the official is trying to hit him. Following this,Kamal’s bike skidded and his sister-in-law fell on the ground and was injured.

Bhupinder saw Kamal lying on the road from a distance. Enraged to see him injured,Bhupinder allegedly slapped the constable and bruised his eye. A case was registered against Bhupinder and Kamal was challaned for driving without helmet.

Hoax bomb threat creates panic

UT Police has booked a Delhi resident for creating a panic near the Aroma Light point at 8.10 pm on Thursday evening. The accused,Ajay,had made a hoax call of a bomb lying near Aroma Light Point in a bag. He said that the bomb will explode in exactly eight minutes from the time he called. Acting on the information,the UT Police rushed to the Aroma Light point. Teams from the Police station and the Police post,the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Central and a bomb detection squad reached the spot. In-Charge of the Police Post,Sector 22 said,“We searched the location for nearly an hour. All we found was a black bag with clothes in it. Ajay was drunk. He was arrested from the spot and was remanded to judicial custody”.
