A month after two masked men barged into an elderly couple’s house in Dashmesh Enclave of Alamgir in Ludhiana and robbed them of Rs 1.27 lakh and other valuables, the city police arrested the two accused and recovered Rs 40,000, three cellphones, a toy pistol and an iron rod from them.
The police have also seized a motorcycle from the accused. The accused have been identified as Shivam Tangri (25) of Preet Nagar and Harmeet Singh alias Honey of Chander Nagar. Ludhiana police commissioner Mandeep Singh Sidhu said that the two accused had held 64-year-old Jaspal Singh and his wife captive after barging into their residence. They tied their hands and feet and stole Rs 1.27 lakh in cash from the cupboard and also stole mobiles of the couple. The accused had locked the couple in the room before fleeing away.
An FIR was registered at Dehlon police station. He is said that the accused are being questioned to ascertain more information about them.
