17-year-old Noida boy goes ‘missing’

A 17-year-old aspiring cricketer from Noida,who had run away from home and had come to the city to join a cricket academy a couple of days ago,has reportedly gone missing as his parents failed to trace him.

A 17-year-old aspiring cricketer from Noida,who had run away from home and had come to the city to join a cricket academy a couple of days ago,has reportedly gone missing as his parents failed to trace him.

His father,who came to the city to look for his son,said today his son Amit Kumar,a student of Class XI at KV,Noida,Sector 24,had left home on February 6 without informing them and a day later,he called his mother and told her he was in Chandigarh to join a cricket academy.

“He reached Chandigarh on February 7 and told his mother over the phone that he would join a cricket academy here. He also told her not to make any efforts to look for him adding he would return home after a few months of training when he becomes a good cricketer,” said his father Ram Avtar,who is in the Indian Navy.

“Amit had left home in a half-sleeved shirt and jeans. He wished to be a cricketer but we did not know he would run away from home to be one,” Avtar said.

Meanwhile,a case has been registered at the Sector-24 police station in Noida.
