15-year-old ‘raped’ by uncle over three years

The UT Police has arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly raping his 15-year-old niece repeatedly over three years. The accused’s wife  as also arrested who, according to the police, kept mum despite the victim telling her about it.

ASP (east), Parvinder Singh, said, “The victim had been living in Snehalaya for the last few months as she was kidnapped by someone last year. While in Snehalaya, she narrated the incident to the staff there who informed the warden, who then told the director(social welfare).”

The complainant used to live in Chandigarh with her uncle Heera Lal, and aunt, while her parents live in Uttar Pradesh. Medical examination of the victim confirmed rape, and cases were registered against the accused and his wife.
