MP: Principal removed for stopping prayer at assembly in Govt school
The incident took place at the school situated in Biaora town of the district on Wednesday.

The principal of a government school in Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district has been suspended and transferred, and is facing a probe after a video emerged of him stopping students from reciting the Gayatri mantra, officials said.
The incident took place at the school situated in Biaora town of the district on Wednesday. It came to light after a teacher recorded the principal, Dushyant Singh Rana scolding the students asking them who asked them to recite the prayer.
Taking cognizance of the matter, Minister of State for School Education (independent charge) Inder Singh Parmar on Thursday ordered an inquiry into the same. “Whoever has tried to stop this has tried to stop Indian traditions. Education will be imparted in all the schools according to Indian culture and tradition, it has been said in the new education policy. Saraswati Vandana is mandatory in all the schools and is being followed,” Parmar said.
Rana told local reporters on Wednesday: “Since it is a government school, any kind of religious activity is banned here… we had a meeting on Tuesday in which it was decided that only the national anthem, national song and an inspirational song would be sung during the morning school assembly. But the children were instigated by our three teachers and students were purposefully made to chant prayers that we had decided to stop earlier.”
DEO Karan Singh Milala said Dushyant Singh Rana was removed… and transferred to the Block Education Officer’s office.”
