Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. (FB/ Siddaramaiah) All dreams do not come true and a big example of that is Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
During his high school days, Siddaramaiah had aspired to become a doctor. “I too wished to wear an apron and walk around with a stethoscope around my neck,” he said, after inaugurating the renovated burns ward building and radiology department at the K R Hospital in Mysuru.
“I always had this desire. But, I did not get a medical seat. If I had got the seat, I would have become a doctor and not chief minister,” Siddaramaiah said. He eventually completed his graduation in law and was a lecturer before he took the political plunge in the early 1980s.
“Irrespective of the career trajectories of various individuals, there is no greater achievement than performing the role in their chosen professions with diligence and honesty. Every doctor should have professional dignity to ensure that no patient dies or suffers due to our mistakes,” he said.
Siddaramaiah has been touring Mysuru district from Monday and Wednesday, he will participate in the launch of the Gruha Lakshmi scheme which promises Rs 2,000 for women heads of families in the state every month on Wednesday.
