Why Tejasvi Surya asked guests to avoid these 2 gifts for his wedding reception
Tejasvi Surya took to social media to make a request to his well-wishers, urging them to refrain from bringing floral bouquets or dry fruits as gifts.

In a wedding that blended tradition with social consciousness, BJP MP Tejasvi Surya tied the knot with Carnatic singer and Bharatanatyam dancer Sivasri Skandaprasad last Thursday in an intimate ceremony steeped in Vedic rituals.
The intimate affair, attended by close family and friends, set the stage for a grand reception at Vruksha, Palace Grounds, Bengaluru, where several prominent BJP leaders marked their presence.
Ahead of the celebrations, Surya took to social media to make a request to his well-wishers, urging them to refrain from bringing floral bouquets or dry fruits as gifts. Citing startling statistics, he highlighted that out of the one crore weddings held annually in India, nearly 85% of floral decorations and bouquets go to waste within 24 hours, while approximately 300,000 kg of dry fruits are left unused. The estimated charity value of such wastage stands at Rs 315 crore annually.
“With this in mind, we request you to please avoid bringing floral bouquets or dry fruits on this occasion,” Surya stated in a video message, emphasising the importance of mindful gifting.
Dear well-wishers,
Sivasri & I are eagerly looking forward to see you all at our wedding reception tomorrow.
However, we have a request.
