Suspected Bodo militant arrested in Bangalore

He was produced in a local court and was sent to judicial custody till the arrival of the Assam police.

The Karnataka police on Tuesday arrested a suspected Bodo militant from Tavarekere area in the outskirts of the city.

The arrested person was identified as Jaolong alias Jordan, 27, from Kokhrajar in Assam. He was residing and working in a plywood factory at Honaganahatti for past two months.

The arrest came following a tip off by Assam state officials investigating Bodo militancy cases. According to the police Jaolpong is wanted in several militancy cases in Assam and is presumed to be a hardcore cadre of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB).

He was produced in a local court and was sent to judicial custody till the arrival of the Assam police, sources said.
