SSLC preparatory exam paper leak reported in Karnataka’s Kalaburagi, probe ordered
Rumours of a possible leak had been circulating since the examinations began on February 26, with several YouTube videos claiming to show leaked questions.

The Department of School Education and Literacy in Karnataka has launched an investigation into an alleged paper leak during the SSLC preparatory examinations held in Kalaburagi on Tuesday. The leak was reported on Tuesday, the final day of the exams for the Class 10 students when the Social Science question paper surfaced online.
Rumours of a possible leak had been circulating since the examinations began on February 26, with several YouTube videos claiming to show leaked questions. However, officials initially dismissed these allegations, clarifying that the circulated questions were merely model papers.
Trilok Chandra K V, Commissioner for Public Instruction, confirmed that while earlier claims were unfounded, one specific case from Kalaburagi was under scrutiny. “We have sought a detailed report from the Additional Commissioner of Public Instruction (ACPI). Once we receive it, appropriate action will be taken,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Associated Managements of Primary and Secondary Schools of Karnataka (KAMS) criticised the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) for its inability to conduct the examination securely.
“Every student is charged ₹50 for these exams, yet KSEAB has been unable to maintain the integrity of the process. Private schools conduct exams more effectively—why should we be forced to follow this system? ” asked D Shashi Kumar, president of KAMS.
He added, “If teachers, who are the backbone of the education system, remain silent and believe this issue does not concern them, who will take responsibility for fixing the system?”
