As the allegations emerged, the Bengaluru police registered a suo motu case and are currently investigating the matter. (File Photo)The Karnataka BJP on Monday claimed that a private Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report has confirmed that pro-Pakistan slogans were raised on the state Assembly premises on February 27 when the Rajya Saba poll results were declared.
According to BJP state unit chief B Y Vijayendra, Congress workers with Syed Naseer Hussain, who was elected to the Upper House, were seen raising the slogans on the Vidhana Soudha premises. While some TV news channels telecast the video claiming that one of Hussain’s followers raised ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans, a witness whom The Indian Express spoke to, said they had merely chanted ‘Naseer Saab Zindabad’.
The FSL report from the private lab – shared by the BJP on X – states, “To the limited extent of the question in this case, being whether it was ‘Nasir Saab Zindabad’ or ‘Pakistan Zindabad’, the above analysis indicates that it is highly probable to be ‘Pakistan Zindabad’.”
The report, allegedly prepared by private firm Clue4evidence, states that its advocate director Phaneendra B N examined a video of the incident which “was not tampered/doctored and is the result of single capture. The acoustic analysis indicates that the questioned word pronounced is eliminated to the ending with ‘Saab’ and is identified to be ending with ‘Taan’.
After the allegations emerged, the Bengaluru police registered a suo motu case and are currently investigating the matter. On Monday, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said that they are yet to receive the FSL report from the police department and he cannot comment on the issue till then.
On X, Vijayendra said that after the Congress came into power in the state, people have been living in fear because “underground forces” seem to have gained freedom. While the private FSL report is already out, the “government is lying that it has not got the report. This has made us question your commitment towards the nation,” he posted.
Denying the allegation that the official report was already out, Parameshwara said on Monday, “We are yet to get the full report on the issue. We will take action accordingly and even if someone has raised slogans we will initiate action and there is no hiding in it.”
Asked about Congress minister Priyank Kharge’s claim on Wednesday that the report was out but there was no mention of any pro-Pakistan mention, Parameshwara said he would not comment on it.
The home minister added, “We will also look into who this private agency is, if they have the required permission to conduct the analysis, and whether they have the authority to release such reports in public domain.”
Clue4evidence Forensic Investigations Private Limited, a private forensic laboratory, claims to be a corporate entity established in 2009. Its website claims that Phaneendra BN is a court-commissioned forensic expert and advocate director of Clue4evidence forensic.
The Indian Express tried to reach out to Clue4evidence, but they did not respond to calls.
