A 24-year-old national-level woman volleyball player from Belthangady in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district passed away due to a heart attack Wednesday.
Saliyath, who belonged to Padangady Poyyegudde, complained of chest pain and was immediately taken to a private hospital in Mangaluru, but couldn’t be revived.
The former student of SDM College in Ujire, Saliyath had got married a year ago and lived with her husband in Chikkamagalur.
Saliyath had represented Karnataka in the national-level volleyball tournament held in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj, playing a vital role in securing the second position for her team.
