The Leopard Task Force (LTF) in Bengaluru is on high alert after a leopard was spotted near a toll plaza in Electronic City. Forest department officials spotted the big cat on CCTV cameras in the early hours of September 17, around 3 am.

Task force officials reported that the leopard was crossing Hosur Road toward the Nettur Technical Training Foundation ground near the Electronic City toll plaza.

“It could be a male leopard, approximately 3-4 years old, that ventured into the city from Bannerghatta National Park. We believe it has returned to the forest since it was not seen again during our combing operations. However, we have instructed residents to exercise caution,” said an LTF official.

This sighting comes nearly two weeks after a leopard was sighted in Kylasanahalli, near Jigani. Forest department officials suspect it could be the same leopard that has now moved to the other side of Electronic City.

The Leopard Task Force in the Anekal range has set up a cage near Jigani and increased patrolling in the surrounding areas. Residents have been cautioned to stay indoors at night and have been advised not to let cattle, dogs, or other pets stray outside.
