The Board has designated 1,171 exam centres for PUC and 2,818 centres for SSLC exams across the state. Additionally, 31,000 assessors will evaluate PUC answer sheets at 76 centres, while 65,000 assessors will be deployed at 240 centres for SSLC evaluations. For stricter monitoring, webcasting will be implemented at all examination centres like last year, under the supervision of district collectors.

Security measures include 2,342 local vigilance squads for PUC and 2,818 for SSLC exams, along with 504 reconnaissance vigilantes at district and taluk levels.

Speaking about the grace marks system in SSLC examinations, School Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa said, “While grace marks during the Covid period will not be implemented, the original system of grace marks will continue. The pass marks will be reverted to 35 from 25 during the Covid times.” As per the original system, students scoring a minimum of 175 marks across all subjects are eligible for grace marks.

To prevent malpractice and ensure the smooth conduct of exams, a 200-metre radius around all examination centres will be declared a restricted zone. Photocopy, cyber, and computer centres within this zone will remain closed during exam days.

Strict action will be taken under the Education Act against individuals involved in question paper leaks or any other examination-related irregularities. Adequate police personnel will be deployed across all centres for security, Bangarappa said.

The minister also said that answer sheets will be evaluated immediately after each examination, and the results will be analysed to help students focus on areas needing improvement. Karnataka currently conducts three annual examinations, providing multiple opportunities for students to enhance their performance.
