A Bengaluru resident was recently fined Rs 1,000 for letting his children stick their heads out of the sunroof while driving his car on Marathahalli Main Road. A fellow motorist captured the incident and posted it on social media, tagging the police.
The video prompted swift action from the HAL traffic police station, which traced the vehicle owner and issued a fine for “rash and negligent” driving.
Speaking to media persons, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) M N Anucheth said, “Such behaviour is considered unsafe and dangerous. While we haven’t recorded any major accidents related to this practice, it remains illegal. Consequently, we are imposing fines of Rs 1,000 on those found guilty of such violations.”
