Bengaluru weather: The minimum temperature in the Karnataka capital dipped to 14.6 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. In fact, the mercury levels have been on the decline since November 21, which saw the minimum temperature slide to 20.4 degrees Celsius. The temperatures have steadily slipped over the next four days with November 22, 23, 24, and 25 recording 19.8, 17.3, 18.2, and 18.6 degrees Celsius, respectively. The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNMDC) has predicted the arrival of winter by the end of November. "It is difficult to predict the onset of winter, different from how monsoon is predicted. Winter is expected to set in the city by November end after the formation of a trough over the Bay of Bengal," an official said. However, meteorologists expect a marginal rise in city temperatures during the upcoming days. According to IMD's weather forecast for the city, the minimum temperature is expected to hover at 20 degrees Celsius for November 27 and 28, and its likely to fall marginally to 18 degrees Celsius on November 30. Dr Geeta Agnohotri, Director-in-charge of IMD meteorological centre Bengaluru said, "Fog/mist is very likely during the early morning hours in some areas of the city and surroundings." At the same time, she added that no considerable change is expected in the outlook of the weather forecast in the state for the next 48 hours. The present weather conditions, however, haven't caused many flight delays in the last few weeks, according to a spokesperson at the Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL). Moreover, with the second runway all set to begin operations from December 5, airport officials claim there would be no flight delay due to fog as the runway is equipped to deal with zero visibility landings.
