Weather Forecast Report Today India: The IMD weather forecast has warned that the cyclone could result in very rough/high sea condition over the South Bay of Bengal and squally/gale force winds (70-80 kmph) along and off Tamil Nadu coast, southwest Bay of Bengal and Comorin area.
Apart from these four districts, as many as 13 districts are under deficit. These are Devbhoomi Dwarka, Rajkot, Morbi, Kheda, Vadodara, Panchmahal, Narmada, Dahod, Mahisagar in central Gujarat and Mehsana, Patan, Sabarkantha and Banaskantha in northern Gujarat.
Last month, in the first long-range forecast, the IMD had predicted that the country is likely to receive 97 per cent of the LPA which, is read as normal monsoon with a margin of plus and minus five per cent.
Thunderstorm alert Highlights: The fresh round of stormy weather is unlikely to be as devastating as the one that was witnessed last week. On Sunday, the IMD warned people especially in northern and eastern states to brace for extreme weather.
Weather scientists said prevailing conditions were favourable for a good rainfall in the June-September monsoon season. Last year, the country as a whole received rainfall that was 95 per cent of its long-period average.
