Bengaluru Art Park to host 75th edition on Sunday

Founded by renowned artist SG Vasudev to make art and artists more accessible to the general public, artworks are sold at their lowest price at the Art Park to make them more affordable to art enthusiasts.

From drawings and paintings to sculptures and installations, one can find creations by artists from all across Karnataka at Art Park, a visual art initiative in Bengaluru, which will celebrate its 75th edition at the Bengaluru International Centre, Domlur, on April 28.

Founded by renowned artist SG Vasudev to make art and artists more accessible to the general public, artworks are sold at their lowest price at the Art Park to make them more affordable to art enthusiasts.

The 75th edition celebrations will include panel discussions, poetry recitals, musical performances and screenings from the past sessions, in addition to the regular exhibition and sale.  Artists and dignitaries, including MD Pallavi, Arundhati Nag, Nalini Malaviya, Jayakumar G, Suresh Jayaram and Mamta Sagar, will attend the event.

Speaking to The Indian Express, Art Park artist and president Bhagya Ajaikumar said, “Art Park gives new artists, especially students, a platform to showcase their work to a large audience, meet different artists and connect with people who can get them more opportunities.”

Asked about future plans, Ajaikumar says, “We are now planning to increase the reach of Art Park by expanding it to different venues and communities in Bengaluru, starting from BIC on Sunday.”

In this special weekend edition, attendees will have the opportunity to witness artists at work and discuss the role of art in our society. The event will be held from 11 am to 4 pm, and will have no entry fee.
