The Karnataka government had launched an online portal, Brand Bengaluru, on June 21 to gather public suggestions for the city’s development. Earlier, the deadline to send suggestions was till June 30.
The vision for Brand Bengaluru includes advanced urban planning, innovative transportation systems and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure to enhance safety, convenience and sustainability. The civic body aims to optimise commute times, reduce congestions and improve mobility through efficient transportation and smart traffic management.
According to the BBMP officials, till June 30, the portal received more than 20,000 inputs. “In view of overwhelming feedback/suggestions coming from the citizens, the deadline has been extended by 15 days. Citizens can share suggestions either on the portal http://www.brandbengaluru.karnataka.co.in or on the Whatsapp number 9480685700,” the BBMP said in a public notification.
“Desilting of lakes, separate bus lanes, removal of encroachments from drains, improved quality of roads, increasing the fleet of BMTC buses and implementation of solid waste management rules are the most common suggestions by the citizens,” a BBMP official said.
