Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced plans for a “Young Leaders’ Dialogue” in Delhi next year, aiming to involve one lakh youngsters in shaping the future of Indian politics.

During the inauguration of the Ramakrishna Math in Lekhamba village, Ahmedabad, via video conferencing, he said “politics can no longer be left in the hands of dynasts.”

Modi said, “Just as we see the youth excelling in technology and other sectors, it is time for them to assume political leadership. We cannot allow politics to be treated as the feudal property of select families.”

On January 12, 2025, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, 2,000 selected youngsters from across the country will be invited to participate in the Young Leaders’ Dialogue in Delhi. The event will also engage millions of other youths through digital platforms, focusing on strategies for achieving a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) from the youth’s perspective.

“There will be a roadmap to integrate talented and energetic youth into politics. Our commitment is to bring one lakh youngsters into political roles in the coming years. These individuals will represent the new face of 21st-century India and be the architects of our future,” PM Modi said.

“Vivekananda believed that the youth was the backbone of the nation. He famously said, ‘Give me 100 youngsters with self-confidence and energy, and I will rejuvenate India.’ Now is the time for us to take on this responsibility. Today marks the beginning of our journey into Amrit Kaal.”
