Three more held in Surat diamond theft case

The three were produced before a local court which later sent them to police remand till March 26.

diamond759 Surat police had earlier arrested three accused identified as Sagar Kaporya, who is an employee of SRK and the main accused, his cousin brother Bhavesh Kaporya and their friend Harshad Rakholia in the case.

Three more suspects were arrested in the Rs 2-crore diamond heist case from Shree Ramkrishna Exports, taking the total arrests to six.

The three arrested have been identified as Bhautik Vasoya (23), a resident of Parmeshwar society, Varachha, a native of Junagadh, Sunil Harshoda (29), a resident of Chhaprabhata in Amroli, Surat, native of Jamnagar and Jaman Patel Kalavad (36), a resident of Kalavad in Jamnagar district.

Surat police had earlier arrested three accused identified as Sagar Kaporya, who is an employee of SRK and the main accused, his cousin brother Bhavesh Kaporya and their friend Harshad Rakholia in the case.

They have been remanded to police custody till March 26. Kaporya who had been working in the diamond firm at Katargam for the last three years had escaped with rough diamonds worth Rs 2.07 crore from the rough diamond stock department on Monday morning.
