Shobha Yatras mark Ram Navami; CM flags off procession in Mehsana

The yatra was organised by Mehsana-based Shri Ram Seva Samiti and also attended by other BJP leaders, including Gujarat minister Rushikesh Patel; Rajni Patel, general secretary of Gujarat BJP; and former deputy chief minister Nitin Patel.

Speaking on the occasion, Nitin Patel requested people to ensure that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is elected for a third consecutive term with a huge majority.

Meanwhile, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) too organised a Shobha Yatra of Lord Ram at nine places in Ahmedabad. The main Shobha Yatra was carried out from Sarayu temple in Prem Darwaja to Madhupura in the walled city of Ahmedabad.

Hitendrasinh Rajput, spokesperson of Gujarat VHP, said that a total of nine Shobha Yatras were taken out in different parts of the city and all of them remained peaceful.

In Rajkot, Union Minister Parshottam Rupala, the BJP’s candidate for Rajkot Lok Sabha seat, joined fellow BJP leaders in welcoming a Ram Navami procession taken out by the VHP. Rupala welcomed the procession at Raiya Chowkadi on 150-feet Ring Road and also performed aarti of the idol of Lord Rama, which was being carried in the procession.
