School principal arrested for ‘molesting’ Class II student

The victim’s mother immediately contacted the police on Thursday evening and lodged complaint against the principal.

Police Inspector D K Patel said, “The girl’s parents are poor, as a result of which they had not paid the school fees. We have seen injury marks on the girl’s body.”

A school principal was arrested on Saturday for allegedly molesting a seven-year-old girl in Navsari district.

The victim, studying in Class II, was called by the principal to his chamber on Thursday. He reportedly asked her why her parents were not paying the school fees and then allegedly molested her causing injury marks on her face, hands and other parts of body. He later warned the girl against talking about it. However, the girl told the whole story to her parents after returning home.

The victim’s mother immediately contacted the police on Thursday evening and lodged complaint against the principal in this connection. Acting on the complaint, the police arrested the accused on Saturday afternoon.

Police Inspector D K Patel said, “The girl’s parents are poor, as a result of which they had not paid the school fees. We have seen injury marks on the girl’s body. The principal is denying the charges against him, but we are probing the case. We will also take statements of other teaching staffers of the school to find out the behaviour of the accused principal towards the students and staffers.”
