Rs 30 cr fraud case: AU president’s pre-arrest bail plea rejected
Based on a complaint filed by Jani, Rajkot Taluka police had booked “secretary and administrators” of the SKM, Dharmesh Jivani, Dharmesh’s wife Vaishakhi Jivani, and another person, Nilesh Makwana, under various IPC sections.

The Rajkot District and Sessions Court on Tuesday rejected the plea by Tyagvallabh Swami, president of Atmiya University (AU), seeking protection against arrest in a case of Rs 30 crore fraud and criminal conspiracy registered against him and others.
Tyagvallabh Swami is the secretary of Sarvodaya Kelvani Mandal (SKM), the charitable trust which runs the AU, Pavitra Jani, complainant in the case said.
Based on a complaint filed by Jani, Rajkot Taluka police had booked “secretary and administrators” of the SKM, Dharmesh Jivani, Dharmesh’s wife Vaishakhi Jivani, and another person, Nilesh Makwana, under various IPC sections.
In his complaint, Jani, who served as personal assistant to the late Hariprasad Swami, head of one of the factions of the Swaminarayan sect, stated that Tyagvallabh Swami misappropriated amount to the tune Rs 30 crore between 2004 and 2016 by diverting the money to various fraudulent accounts.
