Role Model

Her role as medical student Sunita in the Aamir Khan-starrer Ghajini has given Jiah Khan’s sagging career in Bollywood a much needed boost.

Her role as medical student Sunita in the Aamir Khan-starrer Ghajini has given Jiah Khan’s sagging career in Bollywood a much needed boost. And she has seized the opportunity to promote her other commitments. Her latest role as brand ambassador of PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) has her appealing to people to stop using glass-coated manjas (kite-strings glazed with glass shards) during kite-flying sessions, ahead of Makar Sankranti. The ad,which shows the 20-something dressed as a wounded bird wrapped in kite strings,is attempting to highlight the truth about the manja, that can be fatal for birds. Incidentally, other brand ambassadors of PETA before Khan include John Abraham and Amitabh Bachchan. Illustrous company indeed, but will it translate into more roles?
